The company
For decades, Lukschal GmbH has been a reliable partner for all areas involving the protection of people through specially adapted clothing.
Over the years, the family-owned company, now in its 3rd generation, has developed into a highly competent problem solver in the field of occupational safety clothing.
Some milesones
- Our company was originally founded around 1935 in Neuhaus – today Jindřichův Hradec – in what was then Czechoslovakia by Martin Lukschal.
- As a Sudeten German, however, Lukschal had to leave Czechoslovakia and founded a company with his later wife Eleonora Hanaschek in the turmoil of the post-war years, which was then called Luhana. The company headquarters changed several times: from Vienna, to Weitra and Bischofshofen.
- Initially, the company produced fashion goods such as pullovers, jackets and the like, but later the business shifted to fashionable gloves and later still to work protection.
- In 1962, the company moved to its present location.
- In 1982 the company was renamed “E & M Lukschal Strick und Knitwear”. Peter Lukschal took over the business from his father.
- In 2008, the company was expanded and enlarged.
- In 2013, the company invested in new circular knitting machines.
- In 2014 Eva Lukschal took over the management of the company.
Today we are one of the leading occupational safety specialists in Europe. We offer an extensive range of sophisticated protective clothing for a wide variety of applications. This includes, but isn’t limited to: Gloves, head protection and undergarments, ready-made products as well as fabrics and yard goods. Above all, we prioritise the quality and wearing comfort of our products.
Beyond our tried and tested standard product range, we also offer customized products. After all, your protective wear should be tailored precisely to your needs and requirements. Building on our many years of experience and extensive know-how, we always find a suitable solution for even the most unique working conditions.

In addition to unique manufacturing know-how, the Lukschal company is distinguished above all by its outstanding advice on material selection and combination. Depending on the requirements, either pure natural fibres, conventional synthetic fibres or, if necessary, high-performance fibres as well as combinations thereof are processed.
